About Jean the photographer...
As
is true of many people, Jean snapped pictures for her own enjoyment
for many years.
Eventually, with the nurturing encouragement of mentors, she began
to evolve from someone who just took pictures, into a photographer.
In 1984 she began submitting
her photographs to competitions and shows.
Soon her work was being shown in fine art galleries.
She had discovered that her
long suit was her
eye and her strong sense
of composition.
Sidinger’s
photographs are epitomized by strong, minimalist treatment of
ordinary subjects.
Actively producing award-winning photographs since the mid-1980s,
Jean marketed earlier work as Jean E. Anderson, prior to her
marriage in 2007. Her work
can be found in both national and international collections.
Her
choice of equipment continues to be a basic SR-T Minolta 35mm camera
and Kodak 100 color print film.
Her use of a tripod is critical to composing and capturing
high-quality images.
She
continues to be sought after as a juror for photography shows and
competitions. She was the sole juror for the Lone Tree Photography
show in 2008.
Jean
was owner and principal artist at PHOTOGRAPHERS’ GALLERY in Denver’s prestigious Cherry Creek North
shopping area from 1996 until 2005.
Early
in her photography career, Jean was a charter member of Focus Camera
Club and served as president in 1988 and 1989.
